Out of State Agents have two options to get their North Carolina Real Estate License.

Choices:

1) You may choose not to take the state section of the license examination. (40 questions – State specific). You will be issued a provisional broker license, regardless of the status of your license in your state / province. You are required to take 3-30 hour classes within three years to remove provisional status.

All applicants for NC licensure are subject to the application and character requirements Prescribed in G.S. 93A-4.

2) You may choose to take the exam. Submit an application, include criminal records report, certification of licensure and application fee. Pass the state portion of the license examination you will be issued a “Full” broker license.
